Beauty Review: Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover

We all loved putting on makeup to cover our flaw and look beautiful. But do you know that removing makeup is important and should not be overlooked in our beauty routine. It removes away the impurities on our skin and to let our skin breathe.

No matter how tired I am after a long day out, I will always remove my makeup thoroughly and cleanse our face.

Introducing you my new favourite makeup remover - Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover.

The new Bioré Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover comes in an even smoother, lighter consistency but with the same high cleansing ability that effortlessly dissolves and lifts off more makeup in a gentle glide. This is so much better than before.

The improved version of Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover has smoother jelly-like texture that is gentle on skin and rinses of easily without any harsh tugging on skin. The makeup remover also contains 40% more moisturising essence which nourishes and hydrates skin for a dewy moisturised finish, leaving our skin feeling refreshed with no sticky after-feel.

Remove the stopper when using the makeup remover. Remember to put the stopper back after use so that you won't accidentally pump out the essence.

Time for experiment. I applied cc cream, eye liner, mascara and gel eye liner.

Pump 2-3 pumps onto hands and spread evenly over face and eye area.

Massage gently to dissolve makeup and rinse thoroughly with water. There is no need to use cotton pad or tissue to remove makeup.

My review:

I really love the new Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover. It removes all traces of makeup effortlessly, even my mascara too, leaving my skin feeling, smooth clean and refreshing. It does not irritate my eyes or skin, and no tight feeling. Sometimes when I was really tired, I just use the makeup remover for my face. I find that it cleaned my face thoroughly and there is no need to use cleanser thereafter.

Are you interested in getting one as well?

Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover is available at all leading supermarkets, personal care stores and western pharmacies & departmental stores at retail price of $24.90/230ml.

Happenings in June - Dinner gathering + iDarts + Night Safari

Wednesday 17/6/15

I have a simple dinner gathering with friends whom I had not seen for ages. Though we had not meet for a long time, there is never a moment of awkwardness when we met. Seeing old friends made me feel warm and comfort, we reminisced the old good times, be it studying or walking home together.

With le bff, enjoying our hearty dinner at Skinny Pizza.
This was my second visit to Skinny Pizza.

We ordered Wild Truffled Mushroom Pizza, recommended by YC. He used to work in Skinny Pizza so he was familiar with all the food served here.

The English Breakfast pizza.
The pizza was toppled with smoked bacon, sunny side-up egg, roasted Roma tomatoes and mixed mushrooms on a roasted Neapolitan-style tomato sauce.

Our dinner will not be complete without dessert. We headed down to 記得吃 Ji De Chi at B2. We ordered 3 desserts to share among the 6 of us. My choice of selection was chendol snowy ice.

Green tea snowy ice.

We have so much things to catch up on and we could have go on for many more hours if it wasn't a working day the next day. Oops and also we have a Cinderella in our group who need to be home by 11pm. Let's arrange for another meetup soon again.

Thursday 18/6/15

That day was a hectic day for me. We had a in-house chillout session in the evening and we were busy preparing for it the entire day. We went out to purchase liquors, soft drinks, tibits and ordering McDonald delivery.

2 buckets of wines and Hoegaarden beers. We bought the buckets at Daiso.
Glad that it was over.

Friday 19/6/15

TGIF! So happy when come to Friday. It's time for us to have a good rest after a long tiring week.
My events have become lesser nowadays, so I use my free time to meet up with friends for catch up and lepak around.

Our favourite place of meetup is Vivo City because Grace always ended her work late. By the time she ended work, it has past 8pm. To make things convenient for her, we always scheduled our meetup at Vivo or HarbourFront.

We have our dinner at Kim Gary. I haven't been coming here for years. I ordered one of the western set and it comes with a creamy soup.

Our la kopi and teh session began.

My pork chop and chicken chop set. You can select either fries, spaghetti or rice. I opt for fries.
Kim Gary was preparing for their closing off and we left the restaurant at 9.30pm. We decided to find another place for chit chatting.

McDonald has come up with a new McFlurry flavour: Banana Chocolate McFlurry.
CL has wanted to try it out. It tasted like vanilla ice-cream with a hinge of banana taste.

I decided to go for Oreo McFlurry. My all time favourite.

So happy to see Maggie again. You still looked the same like the last time I saw you.

I really enjoyed the time spent with these brunch of people. We felt contented even if we are not eating expensive food or finding special activity to do. We are happy with just spending quality time together. No more just meeting up once a year because I am going to organise it often.

Wednesday 24/6/15

Met up with le bff again after one week. We met up to play darts this time round.

Jessie, JH and I were the earliest so we went for dinner at Telok Blangah Crescent. YK was supposed to meet us too but we couldn't contact him, he didn't picked up our calls. Since his house was just a few blocks away, we decided to pay a surprise visit to his house. It turned up that he was just awoke, he got a shock when he saw us. In order not to shock him further, we went to the playground below his house to wait for him there instead.

Some kiddo enjoying at the playground.

After YK came down, we went to iDarts at Mount Faber Safra.
This was my first time playing darts. Met many of my friends there. There are 2 pros in my group, they even have their own darts.

The darts provided by iDarts.

iDarts is a bar like place, you can order beer, vodka and other alcoholic drinks. But this isn’t the usual club scene with just upbeatmusic, drinks, and people mingling around. With the dart machines, we can enjoy the happy teamwork and enjoyable moments with friends over lively darts games.

It was really a fun and addictive games. It creates unforgettable fun times for all of us. I have hit BULLSEYE a couple of times, so happy. No wonder the guys always love coming to play darts, I'm sure we will have more of these session again. Such gathering gives me strength to stay endure till weekend.

Saturday 27/6/15

Meeting le bff the second time in a week. What can we do on a Saturday night other than drinking?
So I decided to plan a sight-seeing outing trip to Night Safari. Night Safari was established since 1994. I have never been there before so I called along my spontaneous bff.

After an hour of ride, here we were at Night Safari. My goodness, it was super crowded that night. The queue to the entrance was so long then it stretched beyond the gift shop.

Upon entering, the first stop that we went was tram station. That is the best way to begin your exploration.

The tram ride was about half an hour long, it travelled deep into the domain of the world’s most fascinating nocturnal animals. The tram ride was inclusive with the tickets.

We enjoyed our tram ride very much. It put us in the best seat to observe the nocturnal animals in their specially lit enclosures. We came upclose with some of the animal, it’s a sensory adventure. I only have this photo during my entire half an hour ride, it was too dark to capture any photo and flash photography may blind these animals.

After the tram ride, we then queue to wait for the animal show which began at 9.30pm.

Creatures of the Night Show.
The show was approximately 20 minutes. It brings together a constellation of our nocturnal superstars who will thrill you with their natural and unique behaviours and skills.

JJ, me, Jessie and JH.
After the show, it's time to begin our walking trails. A pity we didn't manage to cover all the trails. We left Night Safari at 11.15pm. Nevertheless, it was still an unique experience for me.

28th SEA Games Singapore 2015 Day 2 - Table Tennis

28th SEA Games 2015 is finally here in Singapore!

Super excited about it because this is the first time I am watching SEA Games live.
The last time SEA Games was held in Singapore was way back in 1993, it has finally returned to Singapore again after a 22-year long hiatus. This is the fourth time Singapore is hosting the Southeast Asian Games.

SEA Games will be held in Singapore from June 5 to 16, a total of 36 sports and 402 events will feature in the 12-day fiesta.

Which sports are you heading down to give your root support?

I was at Singapore Sports Hub to check out the SEA Games carnival as well as to watch my first ever Table Tennis match. Thanks CL for the ticket.

Table Tennis take place from Jun 1 - Jun 8 with 67 Athletes involved.
Admission fee to watch this sport is $20.

Say hello to Nila, 28th SEA Games mascot.

The name "Nila" is inspired by Sang Nila Utama, the founder of Singapura. The red mane symbolises the burning Passion for sports and the heart-shaped face represents Friendship created through competition.

I want a Nila plushie.

One of the carnival activities are UnionPay Hot Air Balloon.
Each hot air balloon ride can accommodate a maximum of 3 passengers and 1 pilot. Ticket is required.

So many sports that I want to watch!!!!!

Let's strive for gold, go Team Singapore.

A total of 11 countries are involved in SEA Games 2015. They are Singapore, Vietnam, Timor Leste, Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia and Brunei.

The Table Tennis match was held at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The once familiar concert venue has transformed into a competition venue.

The men's and women's team match took place concurrently in the Indoor Stadium. My eyes will be busy later catching the different match.

Today's match:
Men's team: Thailand vs Vietnam
Men's team: Indonesia vs Philippines
Women's team: Malaysia vs Thailand
Women's team: Singapore vs Vietnam

The Athletes from Thailand making their appearance

Followed by Vietnam.

Team Philippines and Team Indonesia.

Team Singapore.

The match for men's team group B match 6 kickstart:
Indonesia vs Philippines.

One minute break for both team.

Let's go, Singapore!
Let's go!

It was an eye-opener event for me, there was never a moment I felt bored. But just a pity that I didn't get to watch Feng Tianwei played live because Singapore won all the 3 games, so there was no need for her to play. Super excited, especially the match of Indonesia against Philippines, they liked to smack the ping pong high and it bounced higher than normal. Awesome match.

Not sure when the next SEA Games would come to Singapore, grab this opportunity to watch as many games as you can. It's a different experience watching it live compared to watching it from television or online.

Yam's Kitchen @ Jalan Leban Food Tasting

A new dine-out place to recommend for people living in the North:
Yam's Kitchen @ Jalan Leban

Yam's Kitchen offers a wide variety of authentic home cooked Zi Char cuisine. There are currently 2 outlets in Singapore, Jalan Leban and Downtown East. Since opening in 2011, Yam's Kitchen has received numerous good reviews for providing quality food at affordable price. This is also the reason why I would want to go back for a second time too. I love the food so much.

A glimpse of the interior, a very Chinese style restaurant.

This flagship outlet is helmed by Chef Kelvin Yam who has more than 20 years of experience in culinary experience. He had also achieved gold medals in the Asia competitions in recognition of his excellent cooking skill and creativity in Chinese cuisine:

- Gold Medal at the International Youth Chef Competition 2009 in China
- Gold Medla at International Chinese Culinary Competition in China Wulumuqi
- Gold Medal at 7th World Championship Chinese Cuisine in 2012

30% off for OCBC card members.
No service charge at Yam's Kitchen.

There are 2 VIP rooms available at Jalan Leban outlet where you can have your family gathering or company lunch/dinner. Private and cosy.

Having ice lemon tea.
Let's kickstart the feast.

Salted Egg Fish Skin

This is one of my favourite dish. Coated with salted egg, every bite of the fish skin is crispy and crunchy with a mild spice aftertaste. I also tried to dip it with their chilli sauce and it tasted brilliant, it immediately spiced up my appetite.

Fragrant Wine Pork Belly & Smoked Duck Wrapped in Crepe served on a boat

The pork belly is super tender in the inner and crunchy on the outer.
Don't be mistaken, the Smoked Duck Wrapped in Crepe is not Peking duck. It is made of mashed duck meat.

Deep Fried Fish Tail with Coconut Sauce (Chef's Recommendation)

This is a very popular signature dish of which the deep fried fish tail is smothered with a combination of sweet & tangy flavorful coconut sauce gives it a unique aromatic taste. The coconut sauce resembled the taste of laksa. The sauce was thick, tasty and spicy good. The crispy fried fish was flavoursome, I keep wanting for more.

3 Treasures Egg with Superior Stock & Daily Vegetables

This dish requires skillful cooking blend of salted egg, chicken egg & preserved egg with the superior stock made from salted egg yolk.

I'm not someone who like vegetables but this dish is an exception. I like the flavoursome broth and the softness of the veggie.

Pork Ball with Double Mushroom in Bean Paste Soup

My first time drinking soup that is made of soya bean. This is a healthy soup to go with during meal as it is good for our body and has no MSG. Love the huge dollops of juicy Pork Balls in silky smooth home-made Soya Bean Paste Soup.

Prawn in Spicy Milky Sauce accompanied with Fried KangKong

I like how Yam's Kitchen put in efforts to create little visual perfect details to beautify the dish.
The prawns were fresh and the milky sauce enhanced the sweetness of the prawns.

Braised Sea Cucumber with Pig's Trotter

This dish was being cooked for 6 hours to bring out the delicious flavour.

Tofu with Cai Poh & Meat Floss

A creative topping to go with for tofu. Instead of the usual bland tofu, Yam's Kitchen paired the tofu with Cai Poh & Meat Floss, giving it an extra flavour. It is simply delicious.

Penang Seafood Fried Kway Teow

Yet another spicy dish. This Fried Kway Teow is good to order for sharing because it is kind of spicy for me, I will not be able to finish alone.

Honey Lime Juice with Ai-Yu Jelly

A perfect dessert to order after a hearty meal. Just nice to go with after eating the Fried Kway Teow. It tasted refreshing.

Ended off our session with a group photo.
